What to Expect

Recruitment Team profile image

When you first arrive we will allocate you to one of our Partner-led teams. Staff within each team have a mixed range of experience ranging from student to manager grade. Although allocated to a specific team, you will still have plenty of opportunities to work with Partners and staff from other teams throughout your training contract.

Your first week is usually spent getting to know the Partners and staff and familiarising yourself with the office. We usually hold an informal social event in the boardroom to help this process and (hopefully!) you will find us all very friendly and approachable and will soon be comfortable with your new surroundings.

To help you settle in we will undertake some practical internal training designed to explain the type of work you will be doing and covering off some of the basics including how to lay-out and cross-reference working papers. On completion of the training, you will start off with a series of small jobs during which you will be working under the supervision of another member of staff to help you with any problems.

The first ICAS block release classes follow a few weeks after you first join which gives you the opportunity to meet students from other firms and compare notes! After returning from block release you will be given the opportunity to work on more complex assignments, often within larger teams.
