Graduating from Heriot-Watt University with an MA (Hons) degree in Accountancy with a European Language, Emma trained with a small firm in Edinburgh before qualifying as a CA in 2004. She then spent almost thirteen years with a large independent accounting firm, working her way up from Audit Senior to Director, before joining Geoghegans as an Audit Director in 2017.
Throughout her career, Emma has specialised in the provision of audit and advisory services to the charity and commercial sectors and is well known and respected in these sectors. Over the years, she has gained considerable experience in working with charities and is well aware of the specific challenges they face and can provide the practical support and advice which is particularly valued by these clients. Her work in the commercial sector focuses on private companies, mostly owner-managed businesses, and comprises both individual companies and groups.
