Geoghegans is a training office fully authorised by the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Scotland and as such provides all the recommended support and work experience enabling graduates to qualify for membership of ICAS.

Being an established firm we are able to provide a combination of training, experience and responsibility for our students in all aspects of accountancy services. We recruit graduates who are committed and wish to learn in a friendly and professional environment. Our best advertisement are those students who have trained with us, many of whom now hold senior positions in large organisations both here in the UK and overseas.

Our qualification requirement is an ICAS “fully accredited” 2:1 accountancy degree.

Vacancies

We are looking for a part-qualified accountant to join our friendly and supportive accounts department where you will be a valued and integral part of the team. You will be working on a varied portfolio of accounts clients. These clients are in a variety of sectors and range from small limited companies to sole traders and partnerships.

Your main duties for these clients will include:

  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Assisting clients and managers with queries
  • Coaching/assisting junior staff members
  • Managing your workload effectively to meet deadlines

Knowledge and experience desired:

  • Part qualified/qualified by experience with a minimum of 2 years experience working in an Accountancy Firm
  • Good working understanding of accounting standards/accounting principles
  • Experience of CCH, Xero, Sage and other cloud systems
